Granite is looking for a
Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Manchester, New Hampshire. The position is a flexible work position with only 32 hrs per week required, with the ability to work more hours as desired (40+ if desired). The successful candidate can choose to work four 8-hr days, Monday - Thursdays, and enjoy full day Fridays off! The salary listed is based on a standard 40-hr work week and will proportionally vary based on the desired number of work hours. The ideal candidate would work from the Manchester, NH office, however Granite is open to partial or full remote work arrangements.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Manages project engineers schedule and work-load effectively and efficiently. Has the ability to teach project engineers and answer questions.
- Has the ability to perform computer aided drafting and design using AutoCAD.
- Has the ability to perform engineering assignments and designs for simple to moderately complex land development projects.
- Has the ability to perform site civil engineering evaluations and designs including: site selection and feasibility studies based on engineering parameters; conceptual layout of site engineering systems; site grading and earthwork balancing; hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for storm water management, wetland design or preservation and determining flood water elevations; roads, streets, sidewalks, driveways, parking and other vehicular connections; site utility infrastructure including storm drains, culverts, pipelines, drainage improvements, sanitary sewers, water mains, utility duct banks, and utility service coordination.
- Visits project sites and attend meetings with clients and agencies.
- Presents projects at various municipal Board meetings
- Review permit applications for site design and construction approvals.
- Review construction documents including quantity and cost estimates, plans, specifications, and contractor submittals.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal land use requirements to confirm project compliance.
- Familiarity with the location and use of reference and resource materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
An ideal candidate has:
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional Licensure is required.
- At least 6+ years of related civil site engineering and permitting experience in NH.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and HydroCAD software.
- The ability to communicate effectively and follow written/oral instructions.
- The ability to work in a timely manner and multi-task under rigid deadlines.
- The ability to contribute to and participate in a team environment.

Civil Site Engineer to join our growing team in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Performs computer aided drafting and design using AutoCAD.
- Performs engineering assignments and designs for simple to moderately complex land development projects, under the direct supervision of a registered professional engineer.
- Performs site civil engineering evaluations and designs including: site selection and feasibility studies based on engineering parameters; conceptual layout of site engineering systems; site grading and earthwork balancing; hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for storm water management, wetland design or preservation and determining flood water elevations; roads, streets, sidewalks, driveways, parking and other vehicular connections; site utility infrastructure including storm drains, culverts, pipelines, drainage improvements, sanitary sewers, water mains, utility duct banks, and utility service coordination.
- Visits project sites and attends meetings to gain information (including field measurements) and knowledge for the development and completion of projects assigned.
- Prepares permit applications for site design and construction approvals.
- Prepares and reviews construction documents including quantity and cost estimates, plans, specifications, and contractor submittals.
- Performs construction inspections and engages in limited construction contract administration.
- Researches local, state, and federal land use requirements to confirm project compliance.
- Familiarity with the location and use of reference and resource materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
An ideal candidate has:
- At least 3+ years of related engineering experience.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals in Engineering examination preferred, with expectation of applying for Professional Licensure when eligible
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and HydroCAD software.
- The ability to communicate effectively and follow written/oral instructions.
- The ability to work in a timely manner and multi-task under rigid deadlines.
