Granite is seeking a Civil Drafter to fill the following position in Manchester, NH.
 
Essential Duties/Functions:
  • Performs engineering assignments and designs for simple to moderately complex land development projects, under the direct supervision of a registered professional engineer.
  • Generate complete plan sets in collaboration with project teams, utilizing verbal instructions and marked-up plans.
  • Specialize in civil and land development projects, encompassing site/civil plans, grading, surveys, drainage, and stormwater management.
  • Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D to provide engineering support for tasks like volume calculations, site grading, and watershed analysis.
  • Produce detailed and precise documentation for the engineering division, including drafting, charts, notes, and maps.
  • Prepares site plan renderings.
  • Maintains AutoCAD detail library.
  • Maintains Company CAD Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

An ideal candidate has:
  • 2+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Exhibit a professional attitude, self-motivation, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams, with a keen attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Solid foundation in trigonometry and geometry, along with working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite.
  • The ideal candidate will be well organized, work well with others, and have a strong background in AutoCAD Drafting and Design.
  • Candidates for this position must be able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment and be able to assemble plan sheets and plan sets with minimum instruction and supervision.

Engineering Project Manager - 4 Day Work Week

Granite is looking for a Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Manchester, New Hampshire. The position is a flexible work position with only 32 hrs per week required, with the ability to work more hours as desired (40+ if desired). The successful candidate can choose to work four 8-hr days, Monday - Thursdays, and enjoy full day Fridays off! The salary listed is based on a standard 40-hr work week and will proportionally vary based on the desired number of work hours. The ideal candidate would work from the Manchester, NH office, however Granite is open to partial or full remote work arrangements.
 
Essential Duties/Functions:
  • Manages project engineers schedule and work-load effectively and efficiently. Has the ability to teach project engineers and answer questions.
  • Has the ability to perform computer aided drafting and design using AutoCAD.
  • Has the ability to perform engineering assignments and designs for simple to moderately complex land development projects.
  • Has the ability to perform site civil engineering evaluations and designs including: site selection and feasibility studies based on engineering parameters; conceptual layout of site engineering systems; site grading and earthwork balancing; hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for storm water management, wetland design or preservation and determining flood water elevations; roads, streets, sidewalks, driveways, parking and other vehicular connections; site utility infrastructure including storm drains, culverts, pipelines, drainage improvements, sanitary sewers, water mains, utility duct banks, and utility service coordination.
  • Visits project sites and attend meetings with clients and agencies.
  • Presents projects at various municipal Board meetings
  • Review permit applications for site design and construction approvals.

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal land use requirements to confirm project compliance.
  • Familiarity with the location and use of reference and resource materials.

An ideal candidate has:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional Licensure is required.
  • At least 6+ years of related civil site engineering and permitting experience in NH.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and HydroCAD software.

  • The ability to work in a timely manner and multi-task under rigid deadlines.

Essential Duties/Functions:
  • Provides administrative support to the Principal Engineers and staff engineers.
  • Assists in the preparation, compilation, and submittals (deliveries) of various engineering projects.
  • Manages office supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in billing and managing accounts receivable.
  • Manages timesheet input of staff for consistency and accuracy.
  • Manages company job directory and adds new jobs as warranted.
  • Assists in the preparation of project abutter lists and project correspondence.
  • Schedules digital and in office meetings.
  • Inputs bills into QuickBooks and schedules bill payments.
  • Assists in preparation of engineering proposals and estimates.
  • Designs and manages company written qualifications and marketing material.
  • Schedules and manages office seminars, training, continuing education requirements, and business/staff licensure.
  • Schedules office outings and team building activities.
  • Manages company website and social media accounts.
  • Other office duties as needed.

An ideal candidate has:
  • Prior experience working in a professional office environment.
